Matt Tully

Today we read two columns from Matt Tully.  In each of them, he talked about the obstacles that kids face in the Indianapolis Public Schools, in which he got more in detail in his second column.  In the first column, he talked about the kids at Manuel High School.  He spoke about the statistics about the school's graduation rate and their record-low test scores.  In the second column, he talked about Brent Jones, a senior at Manuel who has gone through his entire life without knowing his actual identity.  As a child, his mother was a drug addict and had passed Brent off to her friend without passing through the legal obstacles.  With graduation approaching, Brent had tired to find his mom in order to get into college.  They found Brent's mother, and they all met together before graduation.  Brent got a scholorship to Vincennes University in culinary arts.  I felt this story was really motivating for alot of people. Many people go through this, and Brent's attitude helped him through everything.

Toy Story 3

We just watched Toy Story 3 in Journalism class.  Although I just watched it for the first time on Friday, it was still just as amazing to me and the first time.  The movie was absolutely incredible, I loved it.  I honestly feel bubbly right now after watching the movie again.  It's a whole big roller coaster of emotion going on for 2 hours.  Me, being the macho man that I am, was almost forced to cry a bit, haha. Nevertheless, I felt that this movie really delivered and offered a great end to the best cinematic trilogy of all time. Thank you, Toy Story!

My Best Impression of Anyone Ever Famous.

So I was informed two days ago by the Student Council that they want me to host this year's talent show on April 29th.  I had not applied or hinted at me wanting to do so, yet at the last Student Council meeting, I was informed that I was the best candidate for the job.  They probably chose me for my outgoing, witty personality.....and devastatingly good looks.  After accepting the host job, I have began to wonder.  I'm wondering what to wear, there is a huge range of outfits to wear.  I'm leaning towards over-the-top formal, mostly black and white....or actually, maybe alot of eccentric colors.  But either way, a bow tie will be worn.  I'm really looking forward to it, as I do not get nervous speaking in front of large crowds, I take pride in my ability to speak in public. But either way, I really want to have my own number at the beginning of the show, like they do at the Academy Awards or something, haha.  It'll be alot of fun, and I cannot wait!!

This Weekend Broseph.

This weekend was one of the best I've had in a looooooonnngggg time.  Of course, it was fall break so we got an extra couple days, so I'm going to break down each day of the break for you, starting of course with Wednesday.

Wednesday-  Baseball lifting at 5 in the morning , oh well, I've gotten used to getting deprived of my sleep.  Then school. It was a white day, so it was absolutely fantastic, couldn't be easier.  Then I got home, and my friends and I decided to go see Paranormal Activity 2. Dear God.  Unfortunately, a few of my friends weren't 17, so we had to have our friends's mom come and buy the tickets. What they didn't tell her is that she had to come in and WATCH THE MOVIE WITH US.  So we got into the theater, and 20 minutes in we get kicked out because of 3 16 year olds in a group of 10.  Needless to say, I had some choice words as I left, after I got me refund of course.  Exciting day to say the least.

Thursday- Street football with the guys. ALL DAY. Too fun.

Friday- Repeat. Again, too fun.

Saturday- Got up bright and early to drive to Indianapolis with Elena to watch our soccer team win state. Seriously the most fun I've had in one day in sooooo long.  After the semi-final win, we headed to the mall for a couple hours to kill time.  Watching my friends win the state championship was an absolute blast and I couldn't be more proud of them.  After congratualting the team (and having a little encounter with an officer...ask Lena for deets, lol) we got back home around 1 o'clock in the morning. Superb ending to a superb day.

Sunday- Halloween.  Street football. Passed out candy with my brother who was home from college for the day.  Nice family bonding time.
